Anaia believes in the power of a pivot table created for the public good. With more than a decade of
community engagement and economic development experience, Anaia is the founder and principal
of Grounded Civics. It provides strategic planning, advisory services, and philanthropic initiaitives. Anaia takes an asset-based approach to unite capital with great causes.

In addition to her background in community development, Anaia speaks Spanish and Portuguese.
She enjoys taking walks around green spaces in Washington, DC with her family, great books, big
laughs, and humming along to the songs from Crooklyn. Anaia holds a BA in English Literature and
Spanish Language & Linguistics from Spelman College.
